Three charged over toddler Tavia Da Costa’s death

A 29-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 23-month-old girl in County Tyrone.

Tavia Da Costa, who was due to turn two this month, died at a house in Windmill Court in Dungannon on Sunday.

A 21-year-old woman has charged with manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a child.

Another 24-year-old woman has been charged with causing or allowing the death of a child.

All three have also been charged with cruelty to children.

They are due to appear at Strabane Magistrates’ Court later.

The child has connections to the East Timorese community in Dungannon.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
