Sympathetic and parasympathetic have different functions in the body. For rest and digestion purposes, the parasympathetic nervous system is in charge. After a meal, the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) maintains blood flow to the stomach and intestines, which aid in digestion.

Taking a bath alters the balance of these two systems, which is harmful to digestion, especially when the water is hot. When you take a shower after eating, your body diverts blood from your digestive organs, which can disrupt the digestion process.

Bathing immediately after eating can disrupt blood flow (Bath after eating effect on blood circulation)

The most common side effect of bathing immediately after eating is the problem of blood circulation. During digestion, your body increases blood flow to the stomach and intestines to help break down food and absorb nutrients.

Taking a bath after eating food, especially taking a shower with hot or lukewarm water, increases the blood flow in the skin, so that the body can come back to normal temperature. This process is known as cutaneous vasodilation. Due to which the blood supply to the digestive organs decreases, and the digestion process slows down. At the same time, uncomfortable symptoms like swelling and cramps in the stomach may be seen.

The vagus nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is essential for controlling digestive processes, can become weakened due to lack of blood flow to the intestines. Any disruption in the activity of the vagus nerve can affect the body’s ability to process food effectively, as it is essential for regulating the muscles of the digestive system.

The enteric nervous system (ENS) is located in the digestive system and is involved with brain and spinal cord function. This nerve network interacts with the central nervous system (CNS) and regulates gastrointestinal function.

When you wash after eating, the body directs blood flow away from the digestive system to the skin and organs, which reduces the effectiveness of nutrient absorption and can also slow down digestion. This can eventually lead to a variety of digestive problems and syndromes.

while going :

Whatever your mother, grandmother or grandmother says about eating food and bathing, the reasons may be different, but they are beneficial. You may feel that this is a good way to feel fresh. But taking bath after eating food can give you problems like gas, constipation and bloating. Surely you would not want such freshness.

When you shower, digestion slows down due to interruptions in blood flow and temperature regulation. Which can cause intense pain, swelling and even chronic digestive problems. Waiting at least 30 to 60 minutes after eating to shower can prevent potential irritations and thus promote better digestive health.
