NEW DELHI: Former India batter Aakash Chopra engaged in a hilarious exchange with a troll on social media after taking a subtle jab at the Pakistan Cricket Board‘s clarification regarding the decision to drop Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah for the second and third Tests against England.
According to a PCB spokesman, the players were “spared from the team to give them rest so that they can come back afresh,” supporting the board’s decision.
“In Asia, we don’t ‘drop’ players…we ‘rest’ them. In fact, we don’t even drop catches…we rest the ball on the ground,” Chopra posted on X on Monday, seemingly in reference to the PCB’s clarification.

A user named ‘Troll Cricket’ responded cheekily to Chopra’s post by sharing a photo from an India-Pakistan match where Jasprit Bumrah was seen overstepping while bowling, captioning it, “In Asia, we don’t do a no ball. We just cross the line.”
Chopra then gave the troll a taste of his own medicine by posting a photo from the infamous spot-fixing scandal, where Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir bowled a massive no-ball during the 2010 Lord’s Test against England.

After suffering a historic loss by an innings and 47 runs in the first game of the series, Pakistan declared on Sunday that it was replacing its established stars with younger players, a move that caught the cricket world off guard.
The PCB stated that the decision to axe players from the squad has been made in the best interest of Pakistan’s cricket, Geo News reported, citing The News.
